BREAD AND ROTIS

Battora’s

Description: Battora’s
Cuisine: Indian Cuisine
Serving: 5 Adults
Ingredients:
Maida 2cups
Curd ½ cup
Sugar 1tsp
Baking pwd ¼ tsp
Salt to taste
Water a little
Oil for frying
Procedure:
1. Beat curd, baking pwd, sugar and salt in a vessel.
2. Add the flour to this and make fine dough.
3. Keep this dough covered with a damp cloth for about 3 to 4hrs.
4. Make medium size balls and roll into chapatti of ¼ inch thickness.
5. Fry this in hot oil.
Serve with Channa curry.

Chapatti

Serving: 5 Adults
Ingredients:
Wheat flour 2cups
Salt to taste
Sugar ½ tsp
Oil 2tsp
Water as per required (1/4 cup)
Procedure:
1. Mix the salt and sugar with flour and mix with oil and water.
2. Make soft dough. Do not knead it into tight dough, as the roti’s will be hard.
3. Make small balls, roll into thin round, about the size of your palm or little bigger round shapes.
4. Put the roti on the tawa and toast it with the help of a thick cloth.
5. If needed add oil or toast it dry.
Serve with sabji, mutton or chicken.

Chapatti Hyderabadi

Description: Chapatti hyderabadi

Serving: 5 Adults
Ingredients:
Wheat flour 2cups
Salt to taste
Sugar ½ tsp
Oil 2tsp
Water as per required (1/4 cup)
Procedure:
1. Mix the salt and sugar with flour and mix with oil and water.
2. Make soft dough. Do not knead it into tight dough, as the roti’s will be hard.
3. Make 2 big balls, roll into thin round, as big as the dough rolls out.
4. Cut the rolled out dough in longitudinal length width of 1 inch.
5. Now put to longitudinal lengths together and roll out as an peda.
6. Roll these peda’s into roti’s as thin as you want.
7. Put the roti on the tawa and toast it with the help of a thick cloth.
8. If needed add oil or toast it dry.
Serve with sabji, mutton or chicken.

Methi Parata

Cuisine: North Indian Cuisine
Serving: 5 Adults
Ingredients:
Methi leaves (fenugreek) 1cup Chopped
Salt to taste
Ajwain 1tsp
Asafetida a pinch
Turmeric pwd ¼ tsp
Garlic paste 1tsp
Wheat flour 1cup
Green chili paste 3no’s
Chat masala 1tsp
Ginger grated 1tsp
Coriander leaves chopped 1tbsp
Procedure:
1. Mix all the ingredients with the flour to make soft dough.
2. Make small balls, roll into thick round, about the size of your palm or little bigger round shapes.
3. Put the roti on the tawa and toast it with the help of a spatulla.
4. If needed add oil or toast with ghee or butter.
Serve with sabji or chutney.
